Folger Plastic Container - Shake and Take Number Game
Yesterday I was making coffee and accidentally hit the coffee can and knocked it all in my sink. Not one little bit was left in the can, so I thought why not use the little plastic coffee container to make something with it ;) The one I used is the Folgers 11.3 oz plastic container like the picture below.
My son is almost finished with 1st grade, he has been learning to add numbers like (1+5+6+8=) I wanted to have something fun for him to use during the summer to play math games with so he would not forget the stuff he has learned. So I came up with a game called “Shake and Take” What you do is take the number printable you can find below, print it out and cut the numbers out, put them in the plastic coffee can and then put the lid on it. Then you just shake it and take out how ever many numbers you would like and either add or subtract them. My daughter who is a preschooler is using it for working on recognizing her numbers. We have been pulling them out one by one and letting her say what number it is.
